Welcome to Texas History!
This year promises again to be both challenging and validating for my students. Our highly-focused process will be engaging and interactive, supported by rich visual images, multiple audio-visual resources, and an excellent textbook. Writing, advanced note-taking and map work will be frequent components to punctuate our lessons.
2017 begins my 23rd year in the public education sector plus another 12 years in private Education in Texas and Ohio. I also have built custom homes and private educational child-care facilities as a construction manager, owned and operated a concessions-based food service company, a landscape design and installation firm, and served as a liquidation specialist for the FSLIC, a professional calligrapher, and a commercial real-estate developer/consultant. This broad background gives me a unique perspective about the value of History as an academic subject and a valid personal pursuit.
I will continue to sponsor the Reynolds Scrabble team and the highly decorated UIL Spelling team this year. I will also lead our National History Day competitive teams in the Spring of 2018. Look for me at the scorer's table for 7th and 8th-grade girls' Volleyball matches and all Basketball games!
Most of all, I look forward to guiding my students in the Class of 2023 through their study of the History of Texas.
