      Lunch Charging Policy

      • We want to thank each of you for being part of the PISD family and allowing us to serve your children. As we do our review of offerings, pricing, and the PISD Charging Policy, we need your help and partnership.

The district’s charging policy can be found below. Throughout this first nine weeks, we have not strictly adhered to the policy allowing our students and parents to readjust to the school year. Now that everyone has had an adjustment time, we will be fully enforcing the policy.  This is where we need your partnership. We ask that you monitor your student's MySchoolBucks Account and add additional funds when the balance is below $5, or send money to school to fund their account.

If you find that your family needs additional financial assistance, please consider filling out the Free/Reduced Meal application. If you need additional assistance or have questions, please send an email to child-nutrition@prosper-isd.net.

We want to make sure that each and every student is powered for potential daily.

        Elementary Students

        • If a student needs to charge a meal at the elementary school level, and their balance is between $0 and negative $5.60, they will receive the meal that they have chosen.

        • If an elementary student's account already has a negative balance of $5.60 or more but they still need food that day, they will receive a breakfast of cereal, milk, and a piece of fruit. For lunch, the meal will be either a sunbutter sandwich or cheese sandwich, along with fruit, and the choice of 8 oz fluid milk.

        Middle and High School Students

        • Middle and high school students are not allowed to charge meals. If a student does not have funds on their account and are in need of a meal, they will receive breakfast meals of cereal, milk, and a piece of fruit. For lunch, the meal will be either a sunbutter sandwich or cheese sandwich, along with fruit, and the choice of 8oz fluid milk.

We thank you for your continued support and appreciate each of you as we move forward.
