Mrs. Traci Kirkland

Hello!  My name is Traci Kirkland and I am the Library Media & Instructional Technology Specialist at Boyer Elementary.  This is my fifth year in Prosper ISD and I am looking forward to it being the best year yet! I am very excited to take on the new adventure of helping open Boyer Elementary!  I have taught 2nd and 4th grade as well as served as an LMS for grades K-8th.

I grew up in San Angelo, TX.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, in 2004, from Angelo State University.  In 2011, I earned my Master of Library and Information Science degree from Texas Woman's University. I am now beginning my 8th year as a Library Media Specialist.

Outside of my profession I am the proud Mommy of two boys, Kyson who is 10 and Baylor who is 6.  I am married to my wonderful, supportive husband, Keith, who serves in PISD as an Assistant Principal at Rogers Middle School.  As you already know one of my hobbies is READING but when I don't have my nose in a book I enjoy playtime with my boys, game nights, baking, playing golf, arts & crafts, and spending time with friends & family.  I believe that building meaningful relationships with those around you is what life is all about. Laughter is the medicine of life.  If you laugh every day you can find happiness in anything.  I think of myself as a sponge always taking in new things.  I love learning and make it my mission to learn at least 1 new thing and use it productively each and every day.

Some interesting facts about me...
I have been on The Price Is Right game show...where my friend won a car!
I would LOVE to go skydiving someday...the feeling of free-fall is the BEST!
I like to grow my hair out so that I can cut it off and donate it to Locks of Love...I donated 17 inches once, 12 inches the second time, and 14 inches a third time!  I am currently growing it out again for donation #4! :)
I am a fruit eating fanatic BUT I can't stand pineapple...YUCK!!!!
Strangely enough, I do not care for chocolate much :(  But love all foods with nuts in them! :)
My favorite colors are Purple & Teal...but here in Prosper I bleed GREEN!!!
