I am excited to start another great year at Cockrell Elementary! I have been serving beside incredible staff, parents, and students, here at Cockrell, since its opening seven years ago. This is my 12th year in Prosper ISD; although I have 20 years experience as a school counselor.

My family and I moved to Texas, in 2008, from St. Louis, Missouri.  I have three children (who aren't so little any more!): Michael (age 34) is currently serving in the Navy, and is stationed in Maryland; Andrew (age 19) is in his 2nd year at Collin College; and Brooke (age 17) is a Senior at PHS. My husband and I had our beginnings on the east coast, and were married on the beach, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (one of our favorite places). I am currently an active PHS band mom, and being involved in Boy Scouting for many years, I am a proud mom of an Eagle Scout.  I enjoy running, reading, cooking, and traveling with my family. Having my roots in St. Louis, I love my baseball; especially my St. Louis Cardinals!

Graduating from Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, VA; I made the beach my home for about twenty years. I earned my B.S. in Psychology at ODU, and received my M.S. Ed in School Counseling there as well. I still make annual trips out there each summer to feel the ocean breeze and the sand between my toes!

I am here to help your child succeed in school and help support our teachers. Here are some of the ways I serve the students at Cockrell:

Individual Counseling with students, as needed

Small Group Counseling pertaining to: friendship issues, social skills, grief and loss, divorce/changing families, self-esteem, study skills, and more

Identify Community Support: providing resources to outside agencies for special needs/issues, if necessary; inviting guest speakers for learning opportunities and career exploration

Classroom Guidance: I will visit each classroom, monthly, to discuss topics such as: getting along with others, understanding self and others, career exploration, bullying prevention, self-control, and making good choices in problem solving, just to name a few. I will also incorporate our monthly character traits school-wide.

Meet with parents and staff to support student learning, and concerned behaviors, by working together and using the appropriate resources we have available.

Section 504 Coordinator

State Testing Coordinator

I am here to support our students, parents, and staff at Cockrell Elementary. B.A. English, Appalachian State University M.Ed Counseling, North Carolina State University

Jeff Strowe

I am excited to be starting my second year here at Prosper High School and my 15th year overall in education. I graduated from Appalachian State University (the nation's most picturesque college campus) in Boone, North Carolina with a degree in English and earned an M.Ed in Counseling from North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

In my career, I have worked as a Grades 9-12 English teacher, a high school counselor, and a college career counselor. My work has taken me from North Carolina classrooms to the middle of Manhattan as a Career Development Specialist at New York University. Most recently, I have worked in career development down the road in Denton at the University of North Texas.

Away from school, I attend a lot of live music and write about it for various publications. I also enjoy reading, baseball, basketball, Netflix, and of course spending time with my awesome friends and family.

Hello, Prosper Eagles! I am thrilled to be embarking on my second year as a PHS counselor where I will be serving students with the last names Stu-Z. In addition to my end-of-the-alphabet population, I have the privilege of serving our Foreign Exchange students and their host families.

Over the past 8 years, I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach English and ESL in Wisconsin, Taiwan, and McKinney, TX. My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. After I returned from teaching in Taiwan, I earned my Master’s of School Counseling from Angelo State University.

When I am not in my cozy work office, I enjoy adventure eating, baking cookies, and riding horses. This is going to be a fabulous year, and I look forward to serving you and your family!

I am so excited to be starting my 16th year at Prosper High School. Prior to serving as the Testing Coordinator and College and Career Counselor, I spent 9 years in the classroom teaching Health, Physical Education, and PALS. During this time, I was also the Head Volleyball Coach and assisted with Softball and Basketball.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling, working out, watching sports, playing golf, and spending time with my family and friends.

I am looking forward to another great year of serving our students, families, and community.

Be Kind, Eagles!!!
