Hello Rushing Family! I am so excited to begin my journey at Rushing Middle School! I will be starting my 14th year in PISD in the fall, working at Rucker, Rogers, Reynolds, Baker, and now Rushing Middle School!

After completing my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Riverside, I began teaching in 1991 in San Bernardino, California, as a 6th grade teacher. Since then, I have taught elementary, middle and high school, learning something new at every level. In 1998 I completed my masters degree in history at West Virginia University. I returned to teaching as quickly as I could and have never looked back!

No matter what grade level or subject I taught, it was and is my unwavering belief that ALL students can learn at high levels and enjoy amazing success! It is one of my single biggest joys to watch students explore, grow and create as they ready themselves for the challenges ahead. After nearly 30 years as an educator, I still get just as excited about the first day of school as I did walking into that classroom in San Bernardino, California in 1991.

My husband and I have been married for 23 years and have a daughter, Madeline, who graduated from PHS in 2019 after attending Prosper ISD schools K-12. After finishing her first year studying music at The University of Texas at Austin, she is starting a new journey at The University of North Texas in their music school. When we arrived in Prosper in 2005, my husband saw a bumper sticker that read "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!" He said that about sums us up! We could not have chosen a better place to raise and educate our daughter.

I am married to Romi, a wonderful woman with enormous grace, love, and patience. We have two full of energy, curious, and constantly moving sons, Martin (5) and Jack (3). I am thankful for the three of them who have enriched my life greatly!

In my spare time, I enjoy golfing, playing basketball, good food, spending time with family and friends, and watching sports.

Our team is ready to provide each child that walks through our doors the opportunity to reach his or her full potential in a positive, nurturing and engaging learning environment. We are fortunate to have such a strong partnership with the families that we serve.  I am happy and thankful to work in Prosper and build strong relationships with the students and families in this awesome learning community.

Hello Rushing Middle School community!  I feel extremely blessed to serve such a supportive community and incredible team here at RMS.  I am entering my 2nd year in Prosper ISD and 19th year overall in education, all of which have been at the middle school level. During my time as an educator, I have taught ELA, social studies, coached multiple sports, and served as an administrator for the past 7 years.  I earned my Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas.

My wife, Sherri, and I are a blended family with 4 children between us. We have 3 grown boys, Mitchell, Jake, and Josh.  Our youngest, Emma, is starting her sophomore year at UNT.

I am excited to be a part of the inaugural year at Rushing, and I look forward to the partnerships I will develop with parents and the community to provide our students with the highest quality education.

Hello, Rushing Raptors! I am so thankful to serve you all at Rushing MS. I began my career as a middle school teacher and I’m excited to be back with my favorite age group! I’ve also served as an Instructional Technology Coach and most recently, as a high school Assistant Principal. I am thrilled to be starting my first year in Prosper ISD.

I graduated from Texas A&M with my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and completed my Master’s in Education in Educational Leadership and my Master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Dallas Baptist University.

My husband Chase and I enjoy attending Texas A&M football and Rangers baseball games, frequent trips to Colorado, and spending time with our lab, Bear.

My “why” has been and always will be our students - I firmly believe that every student has both the ability and deserves the opportunity to grow. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have a hand in facilitating that growth!

I’d love to connect with you on Twitter at @miagfinch. Make sure to follow Rushing on Twitter @ProsperRushing and Facebook @RushingMS as well!
