Do I have to use a Contracted Vendor?
Per Texas Education Code Section 44.031, any commodity or service that Prosper ISD spends over $50,000 per year on (in the aggregate) must be purchased from a competitively bid contract. A competitively bid contract may be with a Prosper ISD awarded bid, awarded through a purchasing cooperative or a bid awarded with another District so long as the vendor has agreed to the Interlocal Agreement Clause and Prosper ISD has an agreement with said District.

How does a vendor become contracted?
A vendor may become contracted to do business with Prosper ISD in these three ways:
- Respond to a bid that Prosper ISD issues, be awarded by the School Board, and notified by the Purchasing Department of the award;
- Hold a contract with a Purchasing Cooperative (listed under the “Purchasing Cooperatives” tab of the Purchasing Department webpage);
- Respond to a bid issued by another District, City, or County that has an agreement with Prosper ISD allowing us to use their contracts and agree to the Interlocal Agreement Clause within that bid.

Where can I find a current list of contracted vendors?
Any vendor that has been contracted by any of the 3 ways listed above can be found on our “Contracted Vendors” tab listed on the Purchasing Department webpage.
