I am in my 26th year in education, 21 of those years as a coach.  I began my coaching career at Alice High School as an assistant football coach and assistant baseball coach under then AD/Head Football Coach Van Tom Whatley and Head Baseball Coach Victor Escamilla.  I spent 9 years in Alice before accepting an assistant football and assistant baseball coach at Orange Grove High School under AD/ Head Football Coach Brent Kornagay and Head Baseball Coach Rick Sanchez.  After a short stint at Orange Grove, I accepted my first Head Baseball position at San Diego High School. Some of our highlights include beating the number 1 team (Bishop) in the state during district play, making the playoffs for the first time in 23 years in 2012, and having 7 players sign letters of intent to continue their education while playing baseball at the next level.  In 2013, I accepted a position in administration at Alice ISD as a middle school assistant principal and then at San Diego High School before moving my family to Prosper. My last position as an administrator was at Pilot Point Middle School and served as their  assistant principal and boys athletic coordinator.

I was a two-sport athlete while attending Calallen High School.  I played football under legendary Head Football Coach Phil Danaher and baseball for legendary Head Baseball Coach Steve Chapman.  After high school, I accepted a football scholarship to play football at Ottawa University, in Kansas. I later transferred to Southwest Texas State and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology. My Master's Degree in Educational Administration is from Texas A&M - Kingsville.

I’m happily married to my beautiful wife, Debbie. We have two daughters, Sydney and Allie who both attend Prosper High School. We have two pets, Jock, our 19-year-old cat, and Dallas, our 7-month Blue Heeler puppy. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, playing golf, working out, playing my guitar, and reading a good book. My family and I attend Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco.

Kalea Kellum

My name is Kalea Kellum I am a first year teacher here at PHS! I grew up right up the road in Celina Texas. I went to Celina K-12, and truly enjoyed my time there, and knew I wanted to be a teacher since 3rd grade. I am the youngest of 5 and have two amazing parents who have helped me to get to where I am today. Their names are Lori and Joe. I played select softball from age 8-18, and lettered in varsity all four years at Celina High School. During those years, I traveled a lot playing softball all over the states for the top select organizations, and received many academic and athletic awards at Celina HS. I played pitcher/1B until my shoulder surgery at the end of my freshman year, and I quit pitching full time after that. I then focused on being a utility player and played 1B and outfield. My true passion, though, is in the batter's box. I always loved hitting and was honestly recruited for that.  I verbally committed during  my sophomore year to a D2 school in Nebraska, and feel I am knowledgeable in the recruitment aspect/process and can help our team in that specific area. I also have given tons of pitching and hitting lessons over the years while also coaching 8u and 10u select ball. Although I did not continue my softball career in college for a variety of reasons, I tremendously miss the game and wanted to coach so I could share my love for the game with PHS softball, and help them to set a balance in their lives by taking care of themselves while always being phenomenal athletes. GO EAGLES!
