Welcome to Cockrell Elementary School!

I'm honored to serve our students as a Dyslexia Therapist this school year, and I'm thrilled to continue working alongside the incredible staff here at Cockrell Elementary School!  This will be my fourteenth year in education and my twelfth year as a Prosper Eagle.  Over the past eleven years, I've had the privilege of teaching at Baker Elementary, Hughes Elementary, Rogers Middle School, and Reynolds Middle School.  Although I have taught many grade levels throughout the years, having the opportunity to watch students grow as readers is my passion!

I graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Learning and Development, and I completed my Master of Education degree in Reading Education at Texas Woman’s University in 2012.  I received my dyslexia therapy training through Texas Scottish Rite Hospital four years ago, and I love helping my students discover all the rules of the English language through the Take Flight curriculum.

I'm very close to my family, and I'm fortunate that my parents and younger sister live nearby.  I've always loved working with children, and I cannot imagine myself doing anything other than teaching.  Joining the amazing teachers and administrators here at Cockrell has been one of the most fulfilling and exciting experiences I've ever had!  This school year will bring so many new and wonderful adventures, and I am looking forward to sharing each and every one with your child.
