Mrs. Amy Johnson

This is my third year teaching 3rd grade in PISD after moving from Paola, Kansas, three years ago in July. (Go Jayhawks! Go Royals! Go Chiefs!)

My husband, Jeff, and I are the proud parents of four children. Luke, 18, is a senior at Prosper High School. Our oldest three--Courtney, 25; Kyle, 23; and Aly, 22--will be caving in to their parents begging and moving closer to us within the year. We are so excited to have them close again. As a parent of four, I can empathize with all of the emotions, highs and lows, and powerful love we all have for our children.

My parents were both educators and my dad was a high school football coach. Family, education, and athletics are engrained in the fiber of my being!

I am thrilled to be spending my 13th year in education learning with 3rd graders, where I started my career. Across my nine years of teaching at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Paola, I taught all of the content areas in one combination or another across all grades, from 3rd through 8th. I also served as the Associate Principal at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Lenexa for two years, a 2015 Kansas Governor's Award School.

I look forward to growing and learning, with all its joys and struggles, with my new Rucker family as we create our story this school year!
