Ms. Joellen Lundquest, M.Ed.

Welcome to 5th Grade Science and Social Studies!  This is my 11th year teaching at Folsom Elementary, and I am excited to get to explore Science and Social Studies with everyone!  I can't wait to share my passion with you.

My family and I have have lived in the Prosper area for 19 years.  I have 3 amazing children:  Jackson, is starting his freshman year at St. Edward's University in Austin; Cooper is a Junior  at PHS, and Mackenzie is starting her Freshman year at PHS.  All three have spent their entire educational careers in Prosper, and we have had truly amazing experiences together.  You will probably hear a lot about them this year.  We love to spend our free time outdoors, water and snow skiing, swimming, boating, and anything active, as long as we are with family and friends, and our precious pets!

I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Texas at Dallas.  I also earned my Masters Degree in Education Administration from Texas A&M University, Commerce.  I believe that with guidance, structure, and lots of nurturing, combined with plenty of opportunities to learn from their mistakes, children will grow and flourish, both academically and personally.  I believe that effort is more important than the outcome, and stress the importance of building a "bag" filled with "tools" to problem solve in all areas of life!

I look forward to all the fun we will have this year!
