Hi my name is Kathy Feller, I teach functional academics here at Baker. This is my 3rd year at Baker Elementary. I graduated from UNT with my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1996 and began my teaching career in Frisco immediately after that. I am certified in special education K-12th grade, general education 1st-8th grade and ESL. I taught for 10 years and was a behavior specialist for 3 of those years. I have taught life skills, functional academics, resource, and inclusion. In 2007, I took time off to stay home with my children and came back to teaching in 2013. Teaching is my passion so I decided to jump back in! I taught in McKinney for 3 years before I finally found my home here at Baker!
My life is very busy as I have 4 children, 4 dogs and 2 cats! My house is full of kids and pets and we have a lot fun! I sometimes feel like I am feeding most of the teenagers in McKinney and that works out great because I love to cook and I love to have a house full family and friends! When I am not at school I am attending swim meets, cross country meets, and tumbling. My favorite sports are anything my children are playing. I am an artist at heart so if I have any time left in my day, I love to create beautiful things. I also love to run and exercise. I have ran 2 half marathons and many short races. I just started doing yoga and it is very hard because it forces me to slow down!
I am so thankful to be teaching here at Baker. It is simply the best!
