Hello!  My name is Leah Gomez and I teach Functional Academics here at Prosper High School.  This will be my first year in Prosper ISD and I cannot be more excited to join this amazing district.  I have spent the last 11 years in Frisco ISD- 6 years as a Functional Academics teacher and 5 years as an Instructional Specialist for Secondary Special Education.  After 5 years of being out of the classroom, I felt the calling to go back into the classroom and work with students.  Working with students with disabilities is my love and my passion-I would not want to do anything else!

I studied Special Education at Texas Woman's University and graduated in 2005.  I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Richard, for 10 years. Richard works in special education at Centennial High School in Frisco ISD and will be beginning his 9th year in education.  We have a 4-year-old little girl who keeps us on our toes and is the center of our world.  When I have any extra time, I enjoy baking, looking at Pinterest, and getting pedicures!
