Degrees and Certifications:
This is my 20th year as a special education teacher and my Third in Prosper ISD. I previously worked with students in Life Skill and resource settings in Lewisville ISD. I have published a children's book about the special education process to help them understand both the purpose and the vocabulary involved in special education while learning to embrace the help they will be receiving as a positive step in their education: Let's Talk About Being in Special Ed.
I am originally from California. I received my Bachelors degree in French Linguistics from the University of California at Santa Barbara. I have called Texas home for 22 years. My husband and I have raised Three children. Two of my children have followed me into education, and my youngest is now studying to become an occupational therapist. Seventeen Years ago, after spending many years volunteering in the schools with my children, I started a second career in middle school special education. I have certifications in Special education, Generalist 4-8, and Reading Language Arts 4-8. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren. I am a complete nerd when it comes to sci-fi and super heroes. Everyone in my family enjoys reading, movies, and games. We spend many an hour discussing these topics. Family is my favorite pass time.
I love working in Prosper ISD where kids come first. If your student ever needs help, I am available before or after school. My conference time is 1st period. I am most easily reached via email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
