Mrs. Nicole Derby-Moore
Welcome Reynolds Eagles!! My name is Mrs. Derby-Moore and I am back with the Reynolds team to teach Health for the 2018-2019 School Year. I am starting my 14th year of teaching and my third here in Prosper ISD. I completed my Bachelors of Science in Health and Physical Education (05) from Old Dominion University and my Masters of Public Health (15) from Liberty University. I am currently working on my Ed.S from Liberty University and my School Counselors Certification from Angelo State University. I grew up in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia which is where I spent the first eleven years of my teaching career. To date, I have had the amazing opportunity to touch the lives of over 3400 children. Yes, I keep an exact count.
Outside of teaching I love being a mommy and wife. I am the mother of two amazing boys! My son, Colin, is a junior at Denton Ryan High School where he is actively involved in Air Force JROTC, as a Master Sergeant, and was recently selected as a recipient of The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War National Award. Riley, my four-year-old, keeps me on my toes and is likely to one day have a blooming career in comedy, music, or sports. He is attending Pre-K at Light Farms this year. Both of my boys are pretty amazing and I am so blessed to be their mom. My husband, Mark, will soon be headed home from his final tour in the United States Navy. What a ride it has been but we will be so happy to have him home!!
I am very excited to continue writing my story here at Reynolds. It is my goal to support our Eagles on their "Reach for Excellence" this year with fun educational activities that help students establish goals of wellness for a lifetime.
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit." -Aristotle
