Mr. John Ramos

Hello! My name is John Ramos, and I am excited for my second year at Hughes Elementary teaching Third grade. This year will be my seventh year teaching and my second year in Prosper ISD. Before joining Hughes third grade team, I have taught the last four years as special education teacher teaching grades PPCD to fifth grade at Lewisville ISD and taught my first year as a sixth-grade social studies teacher.

I studied at the University of North Texas receiving my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on EC-Generalist and Special Education with a Minor in History and received my Master in Educational Leadership and Administration.

My wife Katherine (who is also an educator) and I met in college. We have been together for eight years and have been married for five years. Together we have one child and a baby boy named Ivan. We currently have two dogs a chocolate lab (Autumn) and a pitbull (Boltz). We also have an Orange Tabby (Pumpkin). When I am not teaching I enjoy traveling, camping, hunting, photography and playing with my son and two dogs.

My philosophy in education is I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a safe and nurturing environment to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. As an educator, it is my goal to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas.
