Mr. John Ramos

Hello! My name is John Ramos, and I am excited to open Furr Elementary and teach third grade. This year will be my eighth year teaching and my third year in Prosper ISD. Before joining Furr third grade team, I have taught the last two years as a third-grade teacher at Hughes. Before joining Prosper, I taught four years as a special education teacher teaching grades PPCD to fifth grade at Lewisville ISD and taught my first year as a sixth-grade social studies teacher.

I studied at the University of North Texas receiving my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on EC-Generalist and Special Education with a Minor in History and received my Master in Educational Leadership and Administration.

My wife Katherine (who is also an educator) and I met in college. We have been together for nine years and have been married for six years. Together we have one child a baby boy named Ivan. We are expecting to have our first daughter this year. We currently have two dogs, a chocolate lab (Autumn) and a pitbull (Boltz). We also have an Orange Tabby (Pumpkin). When I am not teaching, I enjoy hunting, off-roading, camping, photography, and playing with my son and two dogs.

My philosophy in education is I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a safe and nurturing environment to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. As an educator, it is my goal to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas.
