Albert Buckles MBA, MSS

Hello, Baker Eagles!!!!  My name is Albert Buckles. I am beginning my second year in Prosper ISD.  I began my teaching career in 2000 in the State of Illinois.  I left the field of Education in 2002, but I returned in 2010.  I have previously worked in McKinney ISD, and most recently I spent five years working at Imagine International Academy of North Texas, which is a public charter school in McKinney.  All of my teaching years have been in Physical Education.  I have taught students at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.  My most comfortable level of students to work with is definitely elementary.  I absolutely love the excitement that elementary students bring to the classroom.  Their wonder and enthusiasm make teaching elementary physical education fun for me!  On a personal note, I grew up in Austin, Texas, and attended Stephen F. Austin High School.  I graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.  I also have a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Webster University (St. Louis) and a Master of Sports Science/Sports Management from the U.S. Sports Academy (Daphne, Alabama).  I married my wife, Tammi, on July 1, 2016.  I have a step-daughter, Maria, who is part of the Class of 2021 at The University of Texas at Austin.  She will be majoring in Music.  I am extremely excited that Maria will be attending college in my hometown!  Hook 'em Horns!!!  My wife facilitated me becoming hooked on golf, a few summers ago.  I love the game and the peace and quiet that it affords!  We also enjoy visiting upscale hotels for Staycations.  The best times are when we can include golf with our Staycation!  We also like attending college and professional football and basketball games, live.  In addition to my occupation as a teacher, I have an avocation.  I officiate high school and college basketball.  After my years of playing and coaching basketball, I have found another way to stay close to the game.  I absolutely love serving students, and to serve student-athletes and coaches in the capacity of officiating is absolutely a passion of mine, as well.  I am extremely excited about this school year!  We have a lot of great things in store for our students!  I am here to serve and work with you!  I look forward to seeing you all!  It is going to be a great year at Baker Elementary School this year...Simply THE BEST!  Go Eagles!!!!
