Mr. Huneycutt

Brad Huneycutt is currently the Associate Director of Bands at Prosper High School from Prosper, TX. While earning his Master’s degree in Wind Conducting at Texas Christian University, he served the university bands as a graduate assistant. Before his appointment at TCU, he was the Associate Director of Bands at William B. Travis High School in Fort Bend ISD, where his duties included teaching the award winning marching and concert ensembles, percussion, colorguard, and AP Music Theory classes. Mr. Huneycutt also served as Associate Director at Lake Highlands High School in Richardson ISD, where he taught as Director of the Lake Highlands Wildcat Marching Band and Director of the LHHS Winterguard.

Mr. Huneycutt is an adjudicator for the Drum Corps International Summer Music Games and was a member of the DCI World Champion Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps from Rosemont, Illinois. He is an active clinician and adjudicator for indoor and outdoor performing ensembles.

While earning his degree in all-level instrumental music education from the University of Texas at Arlington, he served as an instructor, music arranger, visual designer, and program consultant to schools around the US including Texas, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Florida, Michigan, and New York.

Mr. Huneycutt's concert ensembles have received superior division ratings at the University Interscholastic League Concert & Sight reading Contests, and have earned distinction as "Best In Class" at various regional concert festivals. His marching ensembles have earned trips to the Texas State UIL Marching Contest and have been Bands of America finalists and recipients of various caption awards, including Regional Champions.

Mr. Huneycutt helped in establishing a leadership curriculum and participated as a leadership clinician for Fred J. Miller, Inc., and the University of Texas at Arlington drum major camps, and continues to be very influential in his students' successes. He also maintained a private lesson studio for Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD at Bedford Junior High and LD Bell High School.

Professional affiliations include Music Educators National Conference, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Classroom Teachers Association, and the Association for Technology in Music Instruction.
