Dr. Delissa Garcia Nuno
Welcome to 6th Grade PreAP ELAR!
My name is Delissa Garcia Nuno and this is my fourth year of teaching, but second year in Prosper ISD. However, my education and professional background originated in the field of social work. I served as assistant professor and adjunct at UT Arlington for eight years. It is my passion to inspire and grow children academically and build good character to help them be successful in their lives. I am here to facilitate the learning process and answer questions, so please reach out to me as needed. I have three children, Alissa 14, John 11 and Brianna 7, who attend school within PISD. We also have two maltipoo dogs that are part of our family. They are loads of fun and bring joy and spunk into our lives. Our family loves sports and we are actively involved in activities such as softball, baseball, and basketball, so when you see us around town please come over and say hello!
This year is going to be an extraordinary year filled with adventure and love of learning! I am looking forward to knowing each student personally and assisting them in anyway possible to help set goals that will motivate and challenge them to become creative thinkers and writers! Reading is also crucial to the learning process as it helps improve vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency among many other things, so please support and surround your child with wonderful novels that will help grow their beautiful minds!
