Mr. Michael Hatch

I am so excited to be at Prosper High School again this year!  I'm proud to be teaching Broadcast II, Broadcast Practicum, Radio/Digital Audio Technology I & II and Principles of Art, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications.  Through these classes, I'm advising Eagle Nation Network which includes Eagle Nation News (ENN); as well as PHS The Talon (PHS Radio).  This is my third year teaching at Prosper High School: I previously taught at a private broadcasting school for over 15 years.  I'm passionate about the radio and television broadcasting industries: and look forward to sharing that excitement with my students in a fun, challenging and engaging classroom (and studio) environment!

I graduated from Hollis/Brookline High School in Hollis, New Hampshire, and then went on to earn a BS Communication Arts & Sciences degree at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont.  Even though I did a lot of television broadcast news in college, have judged for the BEA's Festival of Media Arts, and do a great deal of video editing for my church, my background is primarily in radio: I've worked in the industry for over 25 years.  On-Air Personality, Producer, Production, Promotions, News, Music Director, Web Content/Social Media: I've done it all!  I've been blessed to meet everyone from The Ghost Hunters to Fall Out Boy to Blondie.  My favorite career highlight: covering Stephen King's Press Conference!

I currently live in Savannah with my amazing wife and two beautiful kids.  My hobbies include movies and music.  One of my favorite quotes is from Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon) in We Bought A Zoo: "You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage.  Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery.  And I promise you, something great will come of it."

It's awesome to be a Prosper Eagle!  Here's to a stellar year!
