Dr. Jennifer Hinson

I am honored to serve as the principal of Stuber Elementary.  The 2019 school year will mark my 17th year as an educator.  I am so excited to build relationships with staff, students, families, and the community as we embark on the journey of opening a new school in Prosper.  My goal is to build a learning environment that focuses on building positive relationships, serving our community, and pursuing excellence in all we do every day!

I originally grew up in a small town in Alabama.  I had the privilege of meeting my high school sweetheart, Matt, and have been married for 23 years.  While Matt served in the US Navy, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Soon after graduation, I started my teaching career as a 5th-grade teacher.  I would have the great opportunity to teach in different states including Florida, Colorado, and Alabama teaching 5th and 6th grades as well as gifted classrooms.  After serving in Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom, Matt pursued a call to ministry which would continue to take us to various states serving others.  During this time, I desired to reach farther than my individual classroom and in 2006 graduated with a Master’s in Education Leadership from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.  Soon I served as an instructional coach and then an assistant principal.  As an avid learner, I set the goal to earn a doctorate degree by the time I was 40 years old.  While serving as principal of Enon Elementary in Chester, Virginia, I successfully defended my dissertation and graduated in 2018 with my Doctorate in Education Administration from The University of Alabama- one month before turning 41 years old.

Matt and I have two boys, Cody and Caleb. Cody is 18 and will be attending Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee this fall, and Caleb is 13 and will be in 8th grade at Reynolds Middle School.  In my spare time, I enjoy snuggling up with a good book, listening to music, and visiting art museums and the theater.  Living in a house of boys, football is a way of life, so SEC football is a love as well -Roll Tide Roll!

Our family is thrilled to call Prosper our new home, and we know that Stuber will build a legacy of success for each student who walks the halls!  I look forward to meeting each of you soon!
