Mr. Roland Ranz Nelson

Hello! My name is Mr. Nelson, and I'll be teaching English II and AP Literature here at Prosper High School for the 2020-2021 school year.

I am a twelve-year educator who has taught virtually everything in secondary ELAR. I have taught in Lewisville, Highland Park, and McKinney before coming to Prosper last year. I am passionate about advanced coursework and AP courses in particular: I sincerely believe that all students are entitled to high-quality curriculum and instruction at the collegiate level while they are still in high school. I love helping students achieve in May what they found impossible in August. I am also interested in educational research and policy.

Our family--including my wife Laci and our children Jonah, Eli, and Julia--is active in our church community. I love books, film, games (board and video), exercise, podcasts, and the news.

Never hesitate to contact me for any questions or concerns you might have. I am excited to make PHS students college ready!
