Mrs. Shelley DeHenre

Welcome to 7th Grade ELAR and PreAP GT ELAR!

I have been teaching middle school English Language Arts and Reading for the past 20 years, and I'm so excited to take on year number 21 - my 7th in Prosper ISD! I am originally from Mississippi, where I graduated from the University of Mississippi and first began my teaching career. I then moved to Delaware where my husband was stationed as an officer in the Air Force. While there I earned my Master's in Applied Technology in Education from Wilmington University and taught middle school for 10 years. My husband and I feel so fortunate that we were given the opportunity to relocate to Texas 8 years ago and so very happy to call Texas home! We have a son, Isaac, who is very proud to be a first time middle school student at Reynolds! We also have a 6 year old, Bennett, who attends first grade at Windsong! Of course, we can't forget about our four-legged family member named Buster Brown who was once our only "child" and who graciously embraced Isaac and Bennett as brothers. I love raising my boys in such a positive, family-friendly community, and I hope to give my students the same feeling as they enter my classroom. I'm looking forward to a fabulous year of helping my students grow to be the best they can be.
