Mrs. Heather Strasburg

"Read, read, read." - William Faulkner

I am new to Prosper ISD for the 2019-2020 school year, and I am thrilled to be an 8th grade ELAR teacher here at Reynolds Middle School.  Up until this point, I have taught high school sophmores and seniors, and I'm ready to use that unique perspective to prepare my 8th grade students for high school! This is such an exciting time in their lives, and I can't wait to be an integral part in their completion of middle school!

For the last eleven years I have lived in Texas with my husband and two sons.  Am I a full-fledged Texan yet?? I certainly hope so! We have lived in Prosper for three years, and have competely fallen in love with the community that we've found here.  I'm a proud Prosper Mom to an 11-year-old (who will be a new sixth grader at Reynolds) and a 15-year-old (who will be a sophmore at Prosper High School).  As a family, we love to travel, cook, play Mario Kart, watch movies, and take our Chihuahua, Spike, on long walks by the lake.

I became an English teacher because I believe that words are powerful and can change the world! Really. They can. I can't wait to welcome my students into my classroom where we will have a year brimmed with discussion, creation, analysis, critical thinking, collaboration, and FUN!
