Mrs. Angela "Joy" Nelson
This is my 22nd year of teaching, and I am so excited to join the Prosper High School family! I spent most of my career teaching in Colorado, spent four years in Frisco ISD, was at Rogers Middle School last year, and am thrilled to be teaching 11th Grade US History this year. I have experience teaching Social Studies and ELAR and have also spent time as a school administrator and staff developer. I truly love all aspects of school and learning!
My family and I live in Prosper. We love the smaller-town feel and tightknit community! My husband, Don, is a Truancy Prevention Specialist for Frisco ISD. I have two children of my own here at PHS. My daughter, Bailee, is a Sophomore, and my son, Wyatt, is a Freshman. They are both swimmers and are looking forward to a great swim season and an exciting school year. My goal each day is to be the kind of teacher that I hope my own children have. In our free time, we enjoy relaxing on our boat on Lake Lewisville, watching football (I love the New Orleans Saints! Who Dat!), and playing with our three dogs (Carson, Rylee, and Ollie). Although you will see my name listed as Angela on some district communication, I actually go by my middle name, which is Joy.
I look forward to getting to know each of you as we create a better future by learning from our past! Go Eagles!!
