Mrs. Sarah Stephens
Hello! My name is Sarah Stephens and I am so excited to be a kindergarten teacher at Furr Elementary! I believe that all students are capable of success and I look forward to guiding my kindergarten students towards success while building their educational foundation. I believe learning is cultivated through strong relationships and lots of love!
I am beginning my twelfth year as an educator. I began teaching second grade in 2009 at Texarkana ISD. After my first year of teaching I moved to a new district, Hooks ISD, and taught first grade for 4 years. The opportunity to develop and implement a new afterschool program was presented and I decided to transition to a new role. For 3 years I was the Site Coordinator for the elementary afterschool program at Hooks Elementary. During this time I completed my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and began and completed a Principal Certification program. After three years as a Site Coordinator I was given the opportunity to be the Project Director of the afterschool program. This position allowed me to work closely with all district personnel and campus administrators thus preparing me for my next role; assistant principal. During the 2018 - 2019 school year I was assistant principal at J.K. Hileman Elementary in Queen City, Texas. Last year was my first year with Prosper ISD and I am looking forward to another wonderful year at Furr Elementary!
In March of 2019 I married my amazing husband, Peyton! Soon after we got married he was transferred to the DFW area for work. I am so happy to be a part of such an amazing school district and look forward to teaching and molding young learners at Furr Elementary.
