Jack and June Furr Elementary School.
Jack graduated from Prosper in 1946, was a longtime farmer, served on the Farm Bureau Board, and was a Korean War Veteran. Jack valued education and served as a Prosper ISD Board member from 1971-80, acting as Board Secretary from 1977-1980.
June also served Prosper ISD as a teacher for 15 years before retiring and returning as a substitute teacher. June came highly recommended and she was a “sought-after” or 'preferred’ substitute for the district. Just as when she was a full time teacher, she was dependable, responsible, and loved children.
All five of the Furr’s children graduated from Prosper ISD, attending grades 1-12. Two of their children became educators as did three grandchildren.
