Welcome, Future Blue Hawks!
I am beyond excited to start the 2020-2021 academic year at Rock Hill High School. My husband
and I moved to Prosper in October 2019 from the Houston area; however; I grew up in Las
Vegas, Nevada where I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada,
Las Vegas and my Master of Arts degree from the University of Phoenix. I began my career at
Roy Martin Middle School in Las Vegas, Nevada, as an English teacher for the International
Baccalaureate Program. After four years, I moved up with my students to Valley High School in
Las Vegas, Nevada, and had the opportunity to be their IB Counselor, as well as the Magnet
Recruiter for both the IB and Hospitality and Tourism Programs. It was there where I fell in love
in assisting parents and students to find balance with the fast paced journey they had in front
of them at the high school level.

Although I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, I have spent the last 10 years in Texas which my
husband tells me, officially makes me a Texan. I spent four years in Austin, Texas and six years
in the Houston area serving students and parents in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School
District. I swam competitively growing up and coached swimming in both Las Vegas and Austin,
so I understand the life of an athlete and the sacrifices one might have to make.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three kids, running, and going to
or watching sporting events.

It will be my 19 th year in education, and I will be beginning my 15 th year as a counselor. I come to
you with a wide range of experience and knowledge to assist in making the transition from high
school to college, career, workforce or personal and social changes seamless. It is my pleasure
to serve you and your child through their high school journey and beyond. Thank you for gifting
me this opportunity!
