Mrs. Elizabeth Heinrich

Welcome to 7th Science!

My name is Elizabeth Heinrich, and I’m thrilled to be partnering with you and your 7th grade Rushing Raptor to encourage their natural curiosity and passion for Science.  This will be my 18th year in education, and my sixth year teaching middle school Science.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a Music Concentration from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. My Master’s of Education is in School Administration from Lamar University.

Growing up in western Michigan, I enjoyed competing as an NCAA All-American swimmer and playing the violin in the local orchestra. These life experiences taught me to appreciate the importance of being coachable and also to share in a common goal within a community.  One of the highlights along my journey in education was serving as an Outdoor Education curriculum writer and camp counselor at Honey Rock Camp in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.  As a 7th Science teacher for five of my 18 years in education, seeing students experience science whether outdoors exploring an ecosystem and collecting pond water samples or the excitement of dissecting specimen such as a dogfish shark, bullfrogs or even cow eyeballs is what has made teaching 7th Science my passion.

My husband, Nathan, is a math teacher in Frisco.  We have two children, Mason (age 4) and Lila (age 2) and a new furry baby, Scout, the miniature poodle.  In our spare time, you may find us fishing, gardening, roasting marshmallows over the backyard firepit, singing at the piano, swimming or perhaps our latest adventure of learning how to sail a catamaran on Lake Lewisville.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out for anything I may do to help support you and your family this year.  I look forward to making this year the best one yet!  I’m honored to serve and partner with our Prosper community!
