Mrs. Traci Kirkland

Hello!  My name is Traci Kirkland and I am the Librarian at Boyer Elementary.  This is my seventh year in Prosper ISD and I am looking forward to it being the best year yet! I have taught 2nd and 4th grade as well as served as an LMS for grades K-8th.

I grew up in San Angelo, TX.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, in 2004, from Angelo State University.  In 2011, I earned my Master of Library and Information Science degree from Texas Woman's University and earned my Principal as Instructional Leader Certification from Lamar University in 2020. I am now beginning my 10th year as a Library Media Specialist.

Outside of my profession I am the proud Mommy of two boys, Kyson who is 12 and Baylor who is 8.  I am married to my best friend, Keith, who serves in PISD as an Assistant Principal at Rogers Middle School.  As you already know one of my hobbies is READING but when I don't have my nose in a book I enjoy playtime with my boys, game nights, baking, playing golf, arts & crafts, and spending time with friends & family.  I believe that building meaningful relationships with those around you is what life is all about. Laughter is the medicine of life.  If you laugh every day you can find happiness in anything.  I think of myself as a sponge always taking in new things.  I love learning and make it my mission to learn at least 1 new thing and use it productively each and every day.

"Be happy, not because everything you see is good, but because you see GOOD in everything!"
