Mrs. Gracie Howeth

I am more than ecstatic to be a part of Prosper ISD! It was a privilege to be part of the opening team at Light Farms Elementary. I am looking forward to continuing my career and love of learning and teaching within Prosper ISD. I am so excited to be a part of the 3rd-grade team.

My first 3 years of my teaching journey began in Garland ISD where I was hired as the special education resource teacher. I then had an opportunity to open Portia Ross Taylor Elementary in Frisco ISD and continue the growth of my knowledge in special education.  After 3 years as a resource teacher, I challenged myself to gain new knowledge by making a transition into the general education classroom. I then joined the Portia Ross Taylor 5th grade team and taught the English Language Arts content area. Learning and exploring with 5th graders, I was able to share my passion for reading and love of books with my students. After teaching 5th grade for 3 years, a new door was opened for me. I became the instructional coach at the same campus and had the opportunity to continue to learn, grow and support teachers in all areas of the curriculum by providing professional development, support in collaborative learning, and planning instruction. At Light Farms, I have taught 3rd and 4th grade and truly love 3rd grade!

In the last 16 years, I have gained a wealth of information because I am a lifelong learner and hope to instill the love of learning in each child I come in contact with!
