What is the Prosper ISD Temporary Virtual Academy?

  • The Prosper ISD Temporary Virtual Academy is a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is specifically directed to students Kindergarten - 6th grade who are not eligible to be vaccinated.  Prosper ISD Virtual Academy Kindergarten through 2nd grade students will receive all of their instruction online from Prosper ISD teachers in a synchronous and asynchronous learning model.  Prosper ISD Virtual Academy students in 3rd – 6th grade will receive all of their instruction online through Pearson Online Academy from Pearson Certified Online Teachers who will teach the Pearson Virtual Schools USA curriculum.  The Prosper ISD Virtual Academy will operate as its own campus - this means that a student enrolled in this academy will not be considered a student enrolled in the school to which the student is normally zoned.  Prosper ISD students who are accepted into the virtual academy will be transferred to the virtual academy from their zoned campus. Please also note that the Virtual Academy is a temporary learning platform and the District reserves the right to suspend or stop providing virtual instruction.
