Mrs. Machelle Scogin

I am honored to begin my 20th year in Prosper ISD and 9th year as Principal. My husband of 31 years, Jim and I have three amazing children-Morgan (27), Madison (24), and Mason (14). I am an avid reader and constantly researching ways to blend innovative, collaborative, digital-aged learning while incorporating social emotional health practices that support the growth & grit of the whole child. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, doing DIY projects, reading, and traveling. Some of my favorite places I have been to were Bangalore-India, Dubai-United Arab Emirates, and Rome, Venice, Florence, Sorrento, & Amalfi-Italy.

My family and I have lived in the district for 20plus years and have had the privilege of seeing the rapid growth and positive changes of both the school district and the Town of Prosper. What I continue to love is how our Prosper Community supports our schools, our students, and celebrates traditions centered around families and building positive relationships. In addition to the transformative professional development I have been apart of in Prosper ISD, I have had the honor of attending Harvard Graduate School of Education Principal Institute in 2014, 2016, and 2017 through Raise Your Hand Texas. I was able to focus on The Art of Leadership, Leadership:An Evolving Vision, and Raising Parent Partnerships. As a servant leader in education, I believe it is important to empower students, staff, and families by cultivating a high-trust inclusive culture and climate.

With the Inaugural year of Jim Spradley El 2018-2019 complete, I am looking forward to building on the solid foundation that has been established and see 2020-2021 Spradley Scholars Soar to Success!
