I am very excited to return to Rogers Middle School as the 6th Grade Assistant Principal! I had the privilege of teaching 6th grade math at Rogers for 2 years before moving to Cockrell Elementary where I have served as Assistant Principal for the past 3 years.
My passion for education began while I was growing up with a teacher mom. Then it was fueled by many great teachers I had in school, like Mr. Aimone who challenged me and fostered my love for algebra! I have only become more passionate throughout my career in education as I have gained experience as a teacher, an administrator, and a parent. I want the best education for my 5 kids and believe every student in the school deserves the same thought, consideration, and respect that I would want for my own children.
I am married to Colin, my husband of 23 years, and we have 5 children and 2 dogs. I am proud to say that my two oldest children have graduated from Prosper High School! Halli attends Oregon State University where she is on the gymnastics team, and CJ is attending Collin College. We also have a son, Riley, who is a senior, a daughter, Bailey, who is a junior, and a son, Jake, who is in 4th grade.
My belief that we grow when we are challenged is evident in both my personal and professional life. As an educator, I believe it is important that we challenge students enough that they experience some degree of struggle. It is through the struggle that students learn to persevere and accomplish more than they thought was possible! Personally, I believe in setting goals that challenge me to be my best. These goals have led me to multiple marathon finish lines (including Boston), an Ironman finish line, a Masters degree, and a Superintendent Certification.
I am so excited to "come home" to Rogers this year and look forward to serving our students and families!
