Welcome to Kindergarten!

My name is Amelia Beene and I am so excited to be a part of the Baker Kindergarten team!  We are going to have an amazing year filled with lots of fun, learning and new adventures.  

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas.  I attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, where I met my husband.  I majored in Early Childhood Education and have an additional certification to work with ESL students.  We live in Lake Highlands with our two dogs and two cats.  I enjoy cooking, going to the movies and spending time with family and friends.

This will be my twelfth year teaching Kindergarten and my eleventh year on the Baker Kindergarten team. I taught Kindergarten for one year in Abilene, but quickly realized I needed to be closer to my family, so I packed up and moved here to become a Prosper Eagle.  I always wanted to be a teacher and I’m so thankful to have this awesome job and work in such an incredible school district.   

I love being a part of the very beginning of a student’s school journey and seeing how much they grow and learn.  We will work hard to build a fantastic foundation for your future learning so get ready for an awesome year!
