Issue Resolution Process

The goal of Prosper ISD’s Issue Resolution Process is to collaboratively resolve issues as expediently and efficiently as possible.

Before filing an issue resolution form, the Prosper ISD Board of Trustees and administration strongly encourage each individual to attempt to resolve his or her concerns with the applicable campus or department administrator or employee.  Prosper ISD believes it is typically in the best interest of everyone involved to informally resolve concerns if at all possible.

However, if an informal resolution is unsuccessful or not appropriate in a particular circumstance, the following is the process by which an individual may initiate issue resolution in Prosper ISD:

Step One

Determine which Prosper ISD policy is applicable to your concern(s). Make sure that your concern(s) are appropriately addressed by that policy and that you are familiar with all requirements of that policy:

  • If you are an employee wanting resolution about an employment matter, Board Policy DGBA(Local) applies.

  • If you are a Prosper ISD student or a parent/guardian of a Prosper ISD student wanting resolution about a student matter, Board Policy FNG(Local) applies.

  • If you are a member of the community (or otherwise do not fit into either of the above two categories) wanting resolution about a matter related to Prosper ISD, Board Policy GF(Local) applies.

Step Two

Print and completely fill out the appropriate Level One form linked below:

If you are unable to print out a form, you may request a paper copy of the form from any campus or other building in the District.

Step Three

Submit the Level One form to the Prosper ISD Administration Office as follows:

  • Scan and e-mail the form to issueresolution@prosper-isd.net; or

  • Submit the form in person to the Prosper ISD Administration, 605 E. 7th Street, Prosper, TX 75078; or

  • Mail the form to Prosper ISD Administration, Attn: Office of Legal Services, 605 E. 7th Street, Prosper, TX 75078

Step Four

A Prosper ISD administrator will contact you to schedule a Level One Issue Resolution Conference.  The goal of the Level One resolution conference is to collaboratively resolve the student’s or parent’s issue during the conference.  Both the administrator and individual are encouraged to have a conversation in lieu of formal presentations and to focus on action steps that can be taken to resolve the issue.

If the administrator believes it is necessary to investigate further at the conclusion of the conference, he or she may do so and continue to communicate with the individual in an effort to resolve the issue.  For the purpose of requesting a Level Two resolution conference, the conclusion of the Level One resolution conference is the conclusion of the Level One process, regardless of any investigation or communication that occurs after the conference.

If the individual is not satisfied with the outcome of the Level One process, he or she may request a Level Two conference by sending an email to issueresolution@prosper-isd.net requesting a Level Two Issue Resolution Form.  A Level II form must be submitted within 10 district business days of the conclusion of the Level I process.  Once submitted, a Level Two administrator will conduct a process similar to Level One.  If the individual is not satisfied with the Level Two process, he or she may follow the same process for requesting a Level Three Issue Resolution form.  The Board of Trustees will then schedule a time to hear from the individual at an upcoming Board meeting.

Questions about the Prosper ISD Issue Resolution Process can be submitted to issueresolution@prosper-isd.net.
