We welcome student observers who are enrolled in an accredited Educator Preparation Program (EPP) that leads directly to student teaching.  There must be a current Memorandum of Understanding between your program or university on file with Prosper ISD in order to be considered for placement. All applications must be submitted through the Prosper ISD employment website. A signed placement request from your EPP, which lists the program requirements, is required to be uploaded with the application to ensure student affiliation. Requests from individuals not affiliated with an accredited EPP will not be considered.

All prospective student teachers and observers are required to submit a criminal background check within the application prior to placement within the district. Once the background check has cleared, the process for placement may begin.

Prosper ISD welcomes student teachers and student observers during the fall and spring semesters. Adherence to the timelines will assist us in accommodating requests efficiently and on time

Fall 2025 Important Dates:
Applications for Fall 2025 Student Teachers will be accepted from April 28, 2025, through May 30, 2025. 
Applications for Fall 2025 Student Observers will be accepted from August 4, 202,5 through October 17, 2025.

Spring 2025 Important Dates:
Applications for Spring 2025 Student Teachers will be accepted from October 7, 2024, through November 15, 2024.
Applications for Spring 2025 Student Observers will be accepted from December 2, 2024, through March 14, 2025.

 To request STUDENT OBSERVER or CLINICAL TEACHING placement, please follow the steps below:

1. Submit an application through the Prosper ISD employment website.

2. Upload placement request outlining the program requirements using the information below with the application:

   • Name of College or Certification Program

   • Area of Certification (Ex: EC-6. Gen. 4-8, 6-12 Math)

   • Preferred school and/or grade level (this should align with your desired certification)

   • OBSERVERS - # of hours required

   • STUDENT TEACHERS - First Rotation start and end date
     - Second Rotation (if applicable) start and end date

All requests should go through the above process. Students and programs are discouraged from contacting principals and individual teachers requesting placements. Candidates are welcome to include requests for specific placements (teacher, campus, grade level). PISD will do its best to accommodate these requests, but placement is not guaranteed due to the volume of applications received. Once placements have been made, requests for changes will not be accepted.
