HIGHLIGHTS: Prosper ISD Visual Arts Programs Inspire and Succeed

Both Prosper ISD high schools, Prosper High and Rock Hill competed in the annual UIL Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE). Students compete for scholarships and for their artwork to be recognized with the coveted Gold Seal, the highest recognition for artwork through UIL in Texas.

This year alone, there were 31,996 high school entries into VASE. Student work is then rated from 1 - 4, with four being the highest. There were 21,323 level 4 ratings this year. From those are selected the State Qualifiers. There were only 2,134 of those with level 4 ratings that qualified to state.

At state only 1,112 of the best pieces of art in the state received the Level 4 rating, and of those, only 151 were awarded the coveted Gold Seal. These 151 recipients were the top .5% of the artwork submitted.

Prosper ISD is proud to have many regional and state medalists as well as TWO Gold Seal Recipients. Claire Fassett from Rock Hill High and Carolina Miao from Prosper High.
