HIGHLIGHTS: Prosper ISD Archery Team Excels Nationally

One of the several intramural activities that Prosper ISD students participate in is archery. The Prosper ISD team has had outstanding success this year, most recently at Nationals.

The Prosper ISD Archery teams competed at the NASP Western National tournament over the weekend in Sandy, Utah.

PHS finished 3rd out of 36 teams with just 30 points separating the top 3 teams.  Rock Hill finished in 10th place.

Two Prosper ISD students finished in the top 10 in the nation.  Neha Verabahadra (Rock Hill) finished 6th place for high school girls and Sydney Robinson (PHS) finished 10th.  Only 3 points separated most of the top 10 female archers.

Andrew Hedges (PHS) also received the 2023 On Target For Life Superhero Award.  This award is given to the volunteer who makes an outstanding positive impact on the team.  Andrew was overwhelmingly selected to be the captain of the PHS archery team and for volunteering as an assistant coach for Hays Middle School team, who won several awards this season and qualified for the National tournament for the first time.

Rogers, Reynolds, and Hays also participated in the National Tournament.  Abby Alford (Hays) and PHS Archery scored high enough to attend the Open Championship tournament in Myrtle Beach in June.
