HIGHLIGHTS: Prosper ISD.... Simply the BEST!

There are Champions and then there are the Greatest of All Time! Prosper High School's Lauren Lewis has officially earned the recognition of the Greatest of All Time after setting a new Texas Number 1 record in the 400 meter race. 

Lewis finished the race with a new personal record, UIL State Meet record, and Texas All-time best performance with a time of 51.45, more than 2 full seconds ahead of the 2nd place winner, a very strong finish. Lewis finished the track meet with not one, but TWO Gold medals, being named the State Champion in the 6A 400m Girls Dash and the State Champion in the 6A 200m Girls Dash.

Rock Hill High School's Skylynn Townsend also came home with TWO gold medals in the Triple Jump and in the Long Jump, making her the first ever State Champion in Track and Field for Rock Hill High School. 

Finishing with the Silver medal in the Long Jump behind her cross town teammate from Rock Hill, Prosper High's Kayla Watson finished the competition as the State Champion Runner-Up.

Other notable performances from the Prosper ISD athletes included Logan Dellenbach from Rock Hill and Layne Sheely from Prosper High who finished 7th and 6th, respectively, in the Boys 800m Run.

Prentice Sanders from Prosper High finished 8th in the Boys 400m Dash and the 1600m Boys Relay from Prosper High that included Zane Akinyele, Remington Martin, Prentice Sanders, and Steven Richarson finished 7th.
