PISD Proudly Names ES #10 and ES #11...

Dr. Watkins
Jack & June Furr
Elementary #10, which is located in the southern part of our district and is located in the Westridge development, will be named Jack and June Furr Elementary School. Jack graduated from Prosper in 1946, was a longtime farmer, served on the PISD School Board and Farm Bureau Board, and was a Korean War Veteran. June also served Prosper ISD as a teacher for 15 years. Furr Elementary will open in August 2019.

Charles & Cindy Stuber
Elementary #11, which is located in the western part of our district and is located in the Legacy development, will be named Charles and Cindy Stuber Elementary School. The Stubers moved to Prosper in 1994 when PISD enrollment was at 590 students district-wide. Charles (Chuck) served on the PISD School Board for 12 1/2 years and served as the Board President during most of that time leading the district through successful bond issues for a combined $860 million preparing PISD for the first wave of growth opening many new schools during his tenure on the Board. Cindy has been the consummate volunteer assisting teachers in classrooms, serving on numerous PTO boards, helping with various school lunch programs, and the list goes on. Stuber Elementary will also open in August 2019.
Prosper ISD Safety and Security...
Top Ten
Prosper ISD continues to be ranked in the Top 10 Safest School Districts in the State of Texas, but we are constantly evaluating all areas of our district. This year we have expanded the Watchdog Dads Program at PHS enlisting the involvement of more dads at the secondary level and started the Priority ONE Initiative inviting police officers from all the surrounding municipalities to be more visible at PISD campuses. We are currently in the process of adding parking lot security at PHS to better monitor student movement between the indoor and portable buildings to the main building as well as activity in the parking lots. Moreover, PISD is also in the process of adding officers to the PISD police force so that at least one officer will be stationed at every PISD school. The reality is that it is becoming increasingly more difficult to predict the unpredictability of the world around us. As always, we will continue to evaluate the happenings around PISD to better ensure the safety of all.
