NEWS: After School Activities Canceled March 2, 2023
Prosper Families,
We want you to know we are keeping a close eye on the weather, and our weather experts are telling us that there is a possibility of extreme weather in the area this afternoon and evening. Out of an abundance of caution, we are canceling all night activities, including the elementary Learner’s Showcase, as well as any fine arts and athletic events.
In addition, there is the possibility of extreme weather during afternoon dismissal. Each campus may have a slightly different response to how dismissal is handled, depending on the specific weather conditions they are experiencing at that time.
Please know if it becomes necessary, your campus may keep students inside the building or hold buses until the worst of the weather passes in your area. It may not be possible for your campus to send out a mass communication at that time as their focus will be on keeping students and staff safe.
If your campus does go into a shelter situation, it may not be possible for you to gain access to the building. If severe weather is happening in your area, please stay safe and stay home until the threat has passed. Your student will be safe inside his or her campus.
Please be patient with dismissal lines and our bus routes as we do our very best to keep all our students safe and secure this afternoon.
Stay weather-aware today.
