Prosper’s first season in 6A was one to remember. The varsity girls were the 2nd place team in one of the toughest basketball districts in the state of Texas (9-6A). Being tested on a daily basis led the Eagles to their deepest playoff run in their program’s history. The trip to the regional finals had the team just one win away from going to the state tournament in their first season in the state’s largest class. Eagles basketball player Jordyn Oliver was also named McDonald’s All-American. This is an honor that puts her up there with some of the best high school players in the country.

The season ended with Freshman taking 1st place with 21 wins and 3 losses on the season and 13 wins and 1 loss in district. The Junior Varsity finished with 13 wins and 9 losses on the season. The Varsity’s record year was 28 wins and 11 losses with an 8-4 record and 2nd place finish in district. The team won the Bi-District Championship, Area Championship and finished as the Regional Runner-Up.

Eagles Keep Soaring

The PHS boys basketball program had a successful first season at the 6A level.  The Varsity Eagles reached the playoffs for the 6th consecutive season by winning 20 games after graduating 10 players from last year's Regional Tournament team.  Nine varsity players earned Academic All-District including Josh picture 4 earning Academic All-State - Josh Davis, Derek Holdge, Chris Kingston, and Caleb Reed. Josh Davis earned 1st Team All-District for the third year in a row.

Overall, the five boys basketball teams comprised an overall record of 85 wins and 42 loses on the season for a 67% winning percentage.  The Freshman A team secured the district championship for a second consecutive year with a district record of 13 wins and only 1 loss.

The JV Eagles posted a 14-10 record for the 2018-19 season. The season consisted of many highlights.  The Eagles scored a season high 93 points against Richardson Berkner in a 93-48 win early in the season. The Eagles also got to play in the Prosper ISD Varsity tournament as a Varsity team dropped out at the last minute. The JV beat Frisco Memorial's Varsity in the tournament, 61-59.  The Eagles also had huge district wins over Jesuit, Plano, and Plano East.
