| | | | | | | 8. C. The administration will provide a report on staff compensation and retention
The Prosper ISD Board of Trustees reaffirmed its commitment to staff by approving additional funding beyond House Bill 2 mandates to ensure every employee received a salary increase for the 2025-2026 school year. Teachers with 1-4 years of experience received a $2,500 raise, while those with 5+ years received $5,000. All other employees saw a 4% increase on their base salary, and the minimum starting teacher salary was set at $62,250, with the new hire step schedule extended to 30 years.
A Culture That Retains Staff Prosper ISD's investment in staff is reflected in measurable results. The district has achieved three consecutive years of declining resignation rates and consistently maintains a positive net migration of talent from neighboring districts. This past year, 79 former staff members chose to return to Prosper ISD, and 25 alumni students have come back as professional educators — a true testament to the district's lasting impact. Stay interview data consistently attributes the district's thriving culture to the leadership of the Superintendent.
Recognized for Low Turnover The United Educators Association recognized Prosper ISD as one of the top five districts with the lowest teacher turnover rates in the North Texas Region, ranking fourth with a 13.7% turnover rate for 2024-2025 — well below both regional and state averages.
Attrition in Context When comparing TEA data to Prosper ISD's internal data, an important distinction emerges: TEA counts teacher promotions into non-classroom roles as attrition, while Prosper ISD views these transitions as career advancement. The district's internal attrition rate for 2024-2025 was 11.62%, compared to TEA's reported 13.7%.
An Unwavering Commitment Prosper ISD's strategic priorities are rooted in the belief that people are the district's most significant asset. This commitment was further validated by the district's recognition as the H-E-B Excellence in Education Large District Winner — a reflection of the consistency and dedication with which Prosper ISD pursues its core purpose: Together We Champion, Cultivate, Empower, and Prosper. | | | | 8.
