Mr. Kardel Miller
I am honored to serve as the principal of Windsong Ranch Elementary. This will be my second year in PISD. I am looking forward to seeing all of our returning students and meeting our new students and their families. My goal will be to foster a positive educational environment for each and every student, staff member, as well as the community. By challenging and encouraging students, they will not only succeed but be prepared for and embrace a lifetime of learning.
Born into a long line of teachers, education is in my blood. I grew up in a small town in South Dakota. There, I met my high school sweetheart Kim (and now, wife of 22 years), and obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education at Dakota Wesleyan University. From there, we moved to Texas. I began teaching 5th Grade Math & Science. After years in the classroom, I decided to pursue my Masters in Education and graduated from Lamar University. I had the opportunity to be an assistant principal for four years at Sparks Elementary and jumped at the opportunity to serve as a principal in PISD.
We have 2 boys, Mitchell and Grant, that keep us busy with a flurry of activities. When I’m not driving them to or attending one of their events, I enjoy family time, watching football (the Huskers on Saturday and the Steelers on Sunday), working out and being outdoors.

Mrs. Katie McLain
It is an honor to serve as Windsong’s Assistant Principal for the 2018-2019 school year. I have just completed my fifteenth year as an educator with eleven of those years serving Prosper ISD students at Folsom Elementary. I can’t think of another place that I would rather be to continue my journey in education than at Windsong Ranch. This campus has built a strong reputation within the Prosper community for the standard in which students are educated. The family that you have helped to build speaks volumes of Windsong’s values. My hope is that this excellence will only continue to strengthen in the months ahead.
My husband, Kirby, and I have been married for 13 years and have a beautiful 8 year old daughter, Raileigh. We are a house divided between Texas A&M and the University of Texas, and I am proud to say that I am currently winning the battle of young Raileigh’s heart. Gig ‘Em! Our dogs, Dewey and Lola, love to take up space on our couch and are the best snugglers when needed.
I am excited to build strong relationships with the 1,000+ students and families who call Windsong home. What an incredible opportunity, for there is nothing more important in life than to help shape the hearts and minds of children.
I look forward to partnering with you to ensure that your child has the very best elementary experience possible.
