This begins my eleventh year in Prosper ISD, and my 25th as an educator. I could not imagine doing anything else. My career began in San Angelo, Texas, with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Angelo State University. I then served as a multi-age teacher for six years helping to build a learning community in the elementary setting. My family relocated to North Texas where I continued in education as a fourth and fifth grade math teacher for eight more years. After earning my Masters in Administration from Texas A&M Commerce, I transferred to Prosper as an Assistant Principal where I learned so much making the transition from teacher to administrator.  This will begin my sixth year at Cockrell, where I have loved the opportunity to grow and foster the school community with teachers, parents and students.

I have been married to a wonderful man, Mike, who has been my biggest support system for 24 years. Our daughter Alyssa, attends Texas A&M University, and Lane is entering the high school world as a Freshman.  I personally enjoy shopping with friends and finding time to read a good book.   As a family, it seems we are always involved with baseball, football, and family activities.

I have witnessed the district's growth and development over the past ten years and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us all at Prosper ISD.

It is a wonderful feeling to be a part of the Cockrell Elementary family! As I enter my tenth year in education I am blessed to find myself with the opportunity to serve the students and community at Cockrell.  Having grown up in a small town and being a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ’02, I find myself drawn to small town pride and school spirit, which is why I chose to make the move to Prosper ISD.

I am married to a fellow educator and high school basketball coach, Scott Patterson.  We have two beautiful and sassy daughters. My favorite pastime activity includes going to the rare movie with my hubby, reading young adult novels, eating tacos (as many as I eat – it’s truly a hobby) and having dance parties in the living room with my energetic and silly little girls.

I am extremely excited and energized to begin a new year in a new school.  I love making my way around to all of the students and teachers, getting to know everyone and feeling the buzz of learning in the air.  It fills me with joy to receive high fives and hugs every morning and I cannot wait to begin this amazing year with all of you!  It is an honor to be a Cockrell Champion!
