This begins my ninth year in Prosper ISD, and my 23rd as an educator. I could not imagine doing anything else. My career began in San Angelo, Texas, with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Angelo State University. I then served as a multi-age teacher for six years helping to build a learning community in the elementary setting. My family relocated to North Texas where I continued in education as a fourth and fifth grade math teacher for eight more years. After earning my Masters in Administration from Texas A&M Commerce, I transferred to Prosper as an Assistant Principal where I learned so much making the transition from teacher to administrator.  This will begin my fifth year at Cockrell, where I have loved the opportunity to grow and foster the school community with teachers, parents and students.

I have been married to a wonderful man, Mike, who has been my biggest support system for 21 years. Our daughter Alyssa, will be a Senior at PHS, and Lane will continue his journey at Rogers Middle School as a seventh grader. I personally enjoy shopping with friends and finding time to read a good book.   As a family, it seems we are always involved with baseball, football, and band activities. We enjoy fishing, riding bikes, and playing golf, but those times seem to get fewer as the kids get older and more involved!

I have witnessed the district's growth and development over the past eight years and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us all at Prosper ISD.

It is a wonderful feeling to be a part of the Cockrell Elementary family! As I enter my ninth year in education I am blessed to find myself with the opportunity to serve the students and community at Cockrell.  Having grown up in a small town and being a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ’02, I find myself drawn to small town pride and school spirit, which is why I chose to make the move to Prosper ISD last year.

I am married to a fellow educator and high school basketball coach, Scott Patterson.  We have two beautiful and sassy daughters.  Ruby Claire is five and started Kindergarten this year. Our baby, Kate, was just born in March and is full of smiles. My favorite pastime activity includes going to the rare movie with my hubby, reading young adult novels, eating tacos (as many as I eat – it’s truly a hobby) and having dance parties in the living room with my daughters.

I cannot express the excitement I have felt as this school year has begun. I have been fully energized in getting to know the amazing staff here at Baker and seeing how much they truly love what they do. Now, as students and families have once again entered our building, I am filled with so much joy to meet each and every one of you; your high fives and hugs have warmed my heart.

I want to thank the Baker community for being so warm and welcoming. I truly love being here and I am honored to serve you.
