Hello Baker Family! I am so excited to continue my journey at Baker Elementary School! I am starting my 13th year in PISD, working at Rucker, Rogers, Reynolds and now at Baker Elementary School, Simply the Best!

After completing my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Riverside, I began teaching in 1991 in San Bernardino, California, as a 6th grade teacher. Since then, I have taught elementary, middle and secondary, learning something new at every level. In 1998 I completed my masters degree in history at West Virginia University. I returned to teaching as quickly as I could and have never looked back!

No matter what grade level or subject I taught, it was and is my unwavering belief that ALL students can learn at high levels and enjoy amazing success! It is one of my single biggest joys to watch students explore, grow and create as they ready themselves for the challenges ahead. After more than 27 years as an educator, I still get just as excited about the first day of school as I did walking into that classroom in San Bernardino, California in 1991.

My husband and I have been married for 22 years and have a daughter, Madeline, who just graduated from PHS after attending Prosper ISD schools K-12. She is marching drum corps this summer with The Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps  and touring the country before she starts studying music at The University of Texas at Austin in the fall. When we arrived in Prosper in 2005, my husband saw a bumper sticker that read "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!" He said that about sums us up! We could not have chosen a better place to raise and educate our daughter.

As we begin the 2019-2020 school year together, please know that I am so honored to continue to serve you all and am dedicated to making this the best year ever!

Welcome to Baker Elementary!  I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to serve the families of Baker Elementary as the Assistant Principal!

This will be my 13th year in Prosper ISD and my 22nd year in education. I have served as an elementary English Language Arts Curriculum Designer, an Instructional Technology Specialist in Prosper ISD at both Baker and Cockrell Elementary schools. I have been an elementary teacher, Kindergarten through 3rd grade and spent 2 years as a reading specialist.  I have a Masters of Education in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Music.   Starting my teaching career in San Bernardino, California in 1995, (yes, just like Mrs. Wallace!) my family and I moved to Texas in 1999, and in 2001, I taught 1st grade in Prosper ISD, when we only had one elementary school!

I am very happily married to my husband Chris and together we have 4 children.  My two step-children, Elizabeth, 22 and Shawn, 20, are both currently attending college at UT Dallas, and my two children Jacob, 19 who graduated from PHS last year, will be attending Collin College and Leah, 15, will be attending Prosper High School this year as a sophomore.   Both Jacob and Leah are Baker graduates!

I am thrilled to begin the 2019-2020 school year here at Baker, and I am looking forward to helping to create a positive learning environment for ALL of our students!  Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns, together we are better!
