What a great start to the year at Meet the Teacher! Our elementary and early childhood school students got to meet the teachers who will guide and empower them all year, and parents got to meet the people who will help shape their child's story. The first day is still a few days away, but our students and families are already cultivating connections for the new school year! 🏫 During middle school and high school Schedule Walks this week, students had the chance to find their classrooms, meet teachers, explore their campuses, and get familiar with the people and places that will make up their school community this year.

Staff are back on campus, preparing to bring their best energy to the year ahead! After an empowering day of sharing new ideas and collaborating with colleagues at Prosper Connects last week, teachers are feeling recharged and ready to kick off an incredible new school year. Jim Bridges and his family stepped inside Bridges Middle School last week, touring the campus that now carries his name. 🏫 It was a full-circle moment that reflects the lasting impact he has made on this community and the students who will walk these halls for years to come.
Last week, we celebrated the Rucker family with a first look at the new Judy Rucker Elementary School, a meaningful moment as the newest Prosper ISD elementary campus opens in her honor. 🏫 Campus and district leadership welcomed the family for a personal tour, a small but fitting way to celebrate the legacy behind the name and the community this campus will serve.

Prosper ISD welcomed first-year teachers for a New to Profession session today! These talented individuals chose our district to start their career in education, and we are lucky to have them lead our students this year.
The Board celebrated the Transportation Department for earning the TASB Risk Management Fund Excellence Award and the 2026 National Safety Council Employer Traffic Innovation in Safety Award – recognizing a 42.5% reduction in preventable crash incidents amid rapid district growth. 🚌 Congrats to our team for building a culture where safety is celebrated every day!

The Board of Trustees recognized students who earned the Eagle Scout rank this school year — the highest achievement in Scouts BSA, reached by just 4% of Scouts since 1911. While we were able to honor our other Eagle Scouts at a previous Board meeting, we celebrated Grady McBreen at this month’s meeting. Congratulations to all of our Eagle Scouts on your extraordinary accomplishments!
Congratulations to the Richland High School Speech and Debate Team on being named UIL 4A State Runner-Up, earning 1st and 3rd place finishes in Cross-Examination Debate and a 2nd place finish in Congressional Debate. The Board of Trustees honored the team as a whole at this month’s meeting for this incredible finish. Congrats, Raiders! 🏆

Superintendent Profile developed with input from over 2,100 people.
Impact Education Specialists led more than a dozen in-person input sessions, where nearly 160 people shared their thoughts and hopes for the qualities Prosper ISD needs in its next superintendent. A district-wide survey drew additional input from more than 2,000 staff, parents, and community members.
The superintendent job description is posted, and applications will be accepted through August 14, 2026. The Board will then review applications and begin the interview process, with an anticipated start date in late fall.
