- 2nd Grade Performance has been rescheduled for this coming Tuesday, February 10th at 6:00 pm.
- 4th Grade Field Trip to Ft. Worth has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 21st. The Chaperone Meeting is rescheduled to Thursday, April 16th. Look for information coming to you from the 4th grade teachers.
- Our fantastic library aide, Mrs. Kwitoski, is now the receptionist at Reynolds Middle School effective this past week. We will miss her a ton! Mrs. Klosterman, our PE aide, is stepping in to support Mrs. Mattei in the library for the spring. Thank you for giving grace to Mrs. Mattei as she helps Mrs. Klosterman get onboarded for the library!
- Our Book Fair in March will be cashless! See details below.
A few housekeeping items are listed below, as well as upcoming dates: - As a reminder, all important dates and events for Cockrell for the year are in a document linked below for your planning purposes.
- Dress Code: Please refer to the Dress and Grooming guidelines in the PISD Student Handbook. Remember, hats are appropriate for students on Fridays. Additional "hat days" will be communicated throughout the year as well!
- We would love for you to follow us on Facebook if you have not already. You can find our page at @PISDCockrellElem. Look for the correct Facebook page that has our logo as the main profile picture. This will provide a glimpse into Cockrell for you as we move through the year!
Upcoming Dates: - Tuesday, February 10th: 2nd Grade Musical Performance at Cockrell 6:00 pm
- Thursday, February 12th: Cockrell Family Movie Night 5:00-7:00 in gym (see flier below!)
- Friday, February 13th: No School for Students (Staff Work Day)
- Monday, February 16th: Presidents' Day (No School)
- March 9th-13th: Cashless Book Fair at Cockrell!
- Thursday, March 12th: Learner Showcase at Cockrell 5:00-6:30 pm
- Monday, March 16- 23rd: Spring Break (Students first day back after Spring Break is Tuesday, March 24th)

If your child rides the bus regularly, or even occasionally, please ensure that his or her bus tag is connected to the backpack on a daily basis. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you would like to problem solve this together. Thank you! |
