Take a look below for our STAAR days where we cannot have visitors on campus in April. Our first testing day is this coming Tuesday for ELAR for our 3rd-5th Graders! We will be cheering them on! No visitors campus-wide on this day and the other dates listed below. Thank you!

A few housekeeping items are listed below, as well as upcoming dates: - As a reminder, all important dates and events for Cockrell for the year are in a document linked below for your planning purposes.
- Dress Code: Please refer to the Dress and Grooming guidelines in the PISD Student Handbook. Remember, hats are appropriate for students on Fridays. Additional "hat days" will be communicated throughout the year as well!
- We would love for you to follow us on Facebook if you have not already. You can find our page at @PISDCockrellElem. Look for the correct Facebook page that has our logo as the main profile picture. This will provide a glimpse into Cockrell for you as we move through the year!
Upcoming Dates: - Friday, April 10th: Cockrell Honor Choir at Rough Riders to perform at 7th Inning Stretch 7:05 pm game time
- Saturday, April 11th: PISD Hope Walk at Children's Health Stadium 9am-11am
- April 14: STAAR Assessment 3rd-5th Grade Reading (No Visitors on campus this day)
- April 21: STAAR Assessment: 5th Grade Science (No Visitors on campus this day)
- April 28: STAAR Assessment: 3rd-5th Math (No Visitors on campus this day)
- Thursday, April 23rd: Kindergarten Musical Performance 6:00 pm
- Monday, May 18th: Celebrations of Learning (schedule & details below!)
- Tuesday, May 19th: 5th Grade EOY Party at The Cove
- Wednesday, May 20th: Last Day of School, Detailed schedule for the day coming to you in a few weeks, Champion Assembly 8:00-8:40, EOY Parties, 5th Grade Walk 1:30 pm

This Saturday, April 11th, our Hope Squad will be at the PISD Hope Walk at the Stadium beginning around 9 am! Mrs. O'Neal, Mrs. Ice, and Ms. Gasmire along with other staff will be there to cheer on our Champions on their walk! Come out and sit with us in the stands and head to our booth to play a game! |

Cockrell and our Hope Squad are stuffing the bus!
Please help us show our community how much Champions care! April 13-17th we will be accepting donations for the district's Stuff the Bus! Please bring items to the grade level boxes during the week and earn Extra Recess for the winning grade level! We can't wait to see how much of the bus our Champions fill! |

If your child rides the bus regularly, or even occasionally, please ensure that his or her bus tag is connected to the backpack on a daily basis. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you would like to problem solve this together. Thank you! |

2. If you are picking up your child early from school, please pick-up prior to 2:40 pm so our front office staff can focus on end of day safety, security, and dismissal procedures. |
