📒 Principal's Message

Folsom Families,

What a wonderful third week of school. Our students are working hard and engaged in lots of great learning across all content areas and grade levels! As a reminder, we have no school next Friday, September 4th for a district professional learning day and no school on Monday, September 7th for Labor Day. We hope you all have a wonderful long Labor Day weekend with your student(s).

We are here to support our students and families - as always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!

Announcements

Home of the FIERCE - House Day 2026🏠

This week our students found out what Folsom FIERCE house they will be in all year! Our fifth graders - our leaders - had a special day on Wednesday where they got to find out their house and then all of our K-4 classes found out on Friday. Houses have the opportunity to earn points throughout the month and we will recognize our first winning house of the year on September 30th. We encourage all of our students to wear their house color on that day. At morning announcements, we will announce the winning house and members of the winning house will then get to go on a parade throughout the school to celebrate. They will also get to put their house flag up on the flag pole out front!

Donuts with Watch Dog Dads

Our assistant principal, Mrs. Rubin, will be coordinating Watch Dog Dads at Folsom this year! We are very greatful for our Watch Dog Dads who volunteer throughout the year to be present and visible on campus. If you are interested in learning more about Watch Dog Dads this year at Folsom, please consider joining Mrs. Rubin in the cafeteria on September 3rd at 8 am for an informational presentation. Sign up here to RSVP. Can't join us on that day? No problem! Information can be sent to you - please just email Mrs. Rubin at nkrubin@prosper-isd.net.

Folsom Yearbook 2026-2027🗻

The yearbook is on sale for the lowest price of the year! Add up to 4 icons for free when you pay to personalize the yearbook. Make sure that your child doesn’t miss out on our yearbook tradition. It’s the only book that captures the year’s activities, friendships, experiences, and memories. You must order your copy by Friday, September 13th to take advantage of this offer. Order online: https://jostensyearbooks.com/?REF=A01003449

5th Grade Parents: We are offering the opportunity to purchase a recognition ad for your child. Yearbook ads are a great way to celebrate student success and milestones and reflect on the person your student has become. Show your pride and support your school at the same time. Click HERE to create your recognition ad. Ads will be available for purchase until Friday, January 29th. This offer is available for 5th grade students only.

Folsom Features

Our students work really hard both inside and outside of school and we want to recognize our students as often as we can! If your student would like to be featured at one of our Folsom Friday Live assemblies this year for an outside of school achievement (such as participation in musical, athletic, leadership, or academic groups/teams/clubs), please email me at aeturner@prosper-isd.net. We can set up a date for your student to be featured at an assembly and he/she can join me on the stage to show pictures of their accomplishment and share what they have learned from the experience!

September 11th and November 11th

Each year at Folsom we are proud to recognize our Folsom community first responders and active military on September 11th and our Veterans on November 11th. We encourage our staff and students to wear red, white, and blue on those days.

On September 11th for Texas First Responders Day, we will have a slideshow after announcements honoring our Folsom first responders and active military. If you or a family member of one of our students would like to be in the slideshow, please send an email with a picture to me at aeturner@prosper-isd.net between now and September 10th. We will also have a moment of silence to commemorate September 11th, 2001 after announcements that day.

On November 11th for Veteran's Day, we invite our Folsom community Veterans in or for our annual parade. As this date gets closer, we will send out an RSVP for our Veterans to join us on that day.

Pastries with the Principal

Throughout the year, we will have Pastries with the Principal events where I would love to connect with you! Our first Pastries with the Principal event will be on September 11th at 8 am in the cafeteria. Save the date if you'd like to hear more about our campus goals for the 26-27 school year! We will have pastries and coffee available during the presentation and meet and greet as well.

✅ Reminders and Links

Arrival and Dismissal Safety

Students must 'walk their wheels' once on school property. Pleae help us remind students to get off of their bikes and scooters while near our school, to use cross walks, and to follow all rules of the road! Thank you for helping keep our community safe.

Students may not arrive prior to 7:25 am unless utilizing the 7:15 early drop off option. If you are utilizing early morning drop off, you must make sure your student gets to our early arrival staff member by walking your student to the door between the gym and the cafeteria. We appreciate your support in making sure all of our students arrive safely!
